The Polytechnic University of Madrid is a very big University with one Faculty in Agronomia. One of the Departments is Agricultural Economics and Sociology, the Department that will collaborate in the IP Programme. The Department has been collaborating with the rest of the consortium for many years through common projects and in the framework of Socrates / Erasmus. The Polytechnic University of Madrid has significant experience in e-learning and is running such programmes with success today (mainly with Latin America). Professor Julian Briz, who will be the University representative, has in many ways collaborated with The Agricultural University of Athens and almost all of the other partners in this IP. Among many other things, he is specialising in Traceability and Food security and has repeatedly published on those subjects. He is also an expert in internet and e-learning aspects.
